Marilyn Manson - Dead To The World (VHSRip)

Dead to the World was released on February 10, 1998 on
VHS, documenting the infamous tour of the same name by
Marilyn Manson. It contains primarily live performances
but delves into backstage and archival footage of the band.

Notable features are extensive protests by right-wing
Christian groups, spoken relations of meaning and intent
by Manson himself and the brutal, immense theatrics presented
by the band in the live setting. Based from Antichrist
Superstar, this video features six songs from the album
as well as hits from earlier releases Portrait of an
American Family and Smells Like Children. Naturally
this tour reflected the album it was built upon -
Manson's criticisms of organized religion in this
video and otherwise are ironically proven in the
very actions of the people featured protesting
his credibility.

D.S. 13 - Killed By The Kids

The first full length release on Havoc! DS 13 was my favorite band during the Y2K thrash revival and I was stoked when they told me they would like for me to do their second LP. This LP was recorded at a top studio in Stockholm, has a full color cover and insert, comes on color vinyl and features original cover art by Pushead himself. DS 13's sound on this LP is similar to the last LP, the sound has progressed (regressed) into a more early 80's raw thrash sound. The guitars are less distorted and grindy sounding than the early releases. This gives the album a sort of raw intensity that allows the songwriting and energy to come out full force rather than behind a wall of distorted noise. I would compare DS 13 to early 80's HC bands like Minor Threat, Poison Idea and such, but I really feel they have a distinct hardcore sound all their own. In the years since it's release this LP has become something of a modern classic.-Havoc-

Anti You - Pig City Life (EP)

Another good band out of the current crop of Italian hardcore greats. I don’t hear most of the comparisons that this gets though, esp Circle Jerks (lyrically maybe) but I do hear early 80’s Italian hardcore ala Impact and Wretched crossed w Minor Threat (dude’s a dead ringer for an Ian soundalike) for sure w hints of western USA, I mean its nothing more nothing less! Its a good record def thrilled to get this one, its a 1 time press of 500 EVER and its a 1 sided 7’’ which are usually cool for some reason. And as a cool bonus not mentioned on the track list they cover Discharge’s ‘Hear Nothing,,’ to round out this brief but great 7”.-Cowabunga!-

Crippled Youth - Join The Fight (EP)

By age 14, Matt Warnke (voice), John "Zulu" (guitar), Tim Brooks (bass), and Drew Thomas (beat) had taken detailed notes on the likes of Black Flag, 7Seconds, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Antidote, The Abused, SSD, and DYS, among others. They had also begun serving time in a crash-course apprenticeship to NY/CT's own, Youth Of Today, resulting in the birth of the original "youth crew," which would later extend to select others who grew tight with the two bands over the next few years (the term also later becoming misappropriated to categorize any hardcore strand seemingly traceable to the two brother bands). The result of such hardcore overload on the teens was Crippled Youth and their 1985 "Join The Fight" seven inch EP on New Beginning Records.

Crippled Youth, however, had also been their working band name for years prior as the band stabilized on their punk training wheels with early-teen-fueled basement jams such as "Desperate for Beer," as Drew could laughingly recall in a 2003 interview. Torn shirts, mohawks, and "Sid Lives" insignias, as well as even a very young Matt singing and playing guitar were a sign of these pre-"Join The Fight" times. Obviously this was a very pre-pubescent and also pre-straight edge precursor to what would evolve later- ah, the avenues of youth.

But, the Join The Fight EP loudly and brashly solidified the teenagers' adoption of what they had been intensely studying. Nine songs of straight edge hardcore sound and fury, it was "pure arrogance spoken with the black and white conviction of youth" destined not to be confined to only a K-Town novelty or local opening act. Crippled Youth got moving. While most kids their age were trying to talk their parents into letting them go see Kiss at MSG (if that), the four Katonah youths were making their way up and down the northeast United States, and assembling their own K-Town Mosh Crew. With playing out and continuous song writing came a transformation away from Crippled Youth, a name Matt remembers just sounding "too punk," to that which would soon become recognized as that of BOLD - a name change they found more appropriate and a better reflection of no-punches-pulled songs like "Nailed to the X," "Still Strong," and "Always Try." They weren't little kids much longer...-Myspace-

Flag Of Democracy - 23 LP

FLAG OF DEMOCRACY was such a great hardcore band back in the day. Imagaine if BAD BRAINS had a love child with DEAD KENNEDYS, the result could very well have been F.O.D. (the more commonly abbreviated name of the band) The 23 LP is the bands third album and is just as awesome as the first two, the LOVE SONGS 7" and SHATTER YOUR DAY LP (both available on here, if you haven't downloaded them yet I'd highly suggest you do...great ~love~) FLEX calls this album..."Melodic fun thrash, some ultrafast tracks, others are slower, some have a slight Minnesota influence, others sound a bit like the ~censored~ or Articles of Faith." The best tracks on here are easily Teen Beat, Aberration, Brain Dead and should be more then enough reason to make you want to grab this. Some really original, fast, catchy stuff there. If your a fan of the early 80's DC sound or even DK you'll definitely dig F.O.D.
