Chaos UK - Live At Oslo TV (DVD)

Here's another great UK hardcore punk band for you that dates as far back as 1979. Chaos UK went through as many lineup changes and shows as the best of them, and this TV pro shot from June 2, 1987 features the band at its' peak, slamming through 15 thrash tunes.

Not many bands can make it through several lead vocalist changes (Black Flag comes to mind) and still retain popularity like Chaos UK. Only two members (Kaos being the most notable because he sang at times too) from the original lineup followed the band through the history. They released many albums, toured the world, and for their 20-year stint I'm surprised they weren't more popular in the U.S.

This particular video looks like it was ripped from TV via VHS, so it is a little blurry. However, overall the audio and video are great. On a side note, it's interesting to see how TV video quality (effects, transitions) have changed in the past 20 years!

Chaos UK - Total Chaos

With the entire Chaos UK catalog readily available once again, the need for a simple digest of their 45s might initially seem slender. From the moment the laser lashes the opening "Selfish Few," however, all doubts are rescinded. Chaos UK may not have reserved their most important songs for their singles, but they certainly lined up their most immediate, and the effect of Total Chaos, 19 tracks of pure magic mayhem, is not dissimilar to having your head run over by a train, again and again and again. Chaos UK - Short Sharp Shock

Chaos UK English is a band of hardcore / punk formed in 1979 near Bristol. Simon was in the vocal, Andy on guitar, Kaos in low and Potts on drums. The songs have themes such as unemployment, economic crisis, drunkenness, child mortality, destruction of government, police and authority in general.
In 20 years of band they did several tours around the world, including in Japan where they recorded an album live, the "Live in Japan". Played with mapalma bands like Death, Corrupted Idels, Final Conflict, Extreme Noise Terror, Hi Polloi, The Exploited and others. It also launched an average of 20 LPs, EPs, Singles, Splits and Albums Live. This album "Short Sharp Shock" was launched by the NRC / Weasel in 1984 has great songs.
