V.A. - US Of Oi!

Collection launched in 1993 and is still considered the best collection of bands, Street Punk / Oi! the United States. The album contains well-known bands such as Warzone and Anti Heros, and more bands quite unknown. Some songs that have strong content patriot disc (but we all know that many Americans have a strong feeling patriotic).
Before you speak something, the song "skinheads 88" of Youth Defense League is not Nazi propaganda. Indeed, 88 of the name refers to the year in which it was recorded, and the letter makes no apology. Moreover, members of YDL are friends of the members of Agnostic Front, a band that has strong anti-racist stance.
Ps: The Youth Defense League song "skinheads 88" isn't a Nazi propaganda song. The 88 song in the name stands for the year that it was recorded. YDL is not a WP band.

For the record... YDL were an openly white pride skinhead band. In interviews they were refer to black people as 'colored', and listed Ian Stuart & SKrewdriver as BIG influences on their sound/style. The singer English Nick would often rant about hating immigrants. YDL also covered the racist Skrewdriver song 'voice of britain' as 'voice of brooklyn'.
As far as Agnostic Front... AF have always had a sketchy right wing following, and if you read the song 'public assistance' by AF you will get a reality check about their views. They have cleaned up their image a lot in the last 20 years... but always loved their skinhead following, even the dodgy side.

Lastly, on 'U.S. Of Oi', the song 'strong free nation' has the lyrics 'cuz the RIGHT WING is the BEST'.

Just letting you know, since you spent so much of the post pretending the compilation record was not full of bands with right view views/politics.

I knew Moonstomp members back then and now. They got labeled as right wing and didn't care enough to alter the image due to inevitably becoming a short lived band. On a personal level they really weren't at all beyond the normal crap you heard around that time. There were the beginnings of turmoil between skinhead crews in Atlanta at the time which curtailed and distracted outside views. For the most part the core brothers were and are still middle of the road to leftist which lead me to presume back then that some of the 'jockish' things they sang about were tongue and cheek and taken way to seriously outside of town. In fact last I checked Alan is a socialist and living somewhere in South America and Gary heads the Turbo Jugend in Atlanta.

CORRECTION!!

I knew Moonstomp members back then and now. They got labeled as right wing and didn't care enough to alter the image due to inevitably becoming a short lived band. On a personal level in conversation they really weren't at all beyond stating the normal crap you heard around that time when you were young. But, none of it involved the ultra right or nationalist nazi leanings although those it was well known those types were around at the time. Allen is no socialist (at least that I know of). He lives in Atlanta and works as a photographer. While it's true that the band members were all originally from St. Louis, Moonstomp was formed in Atlanta and Allen, Townsend and Gary still live there. Big Ed, who went onto play in Bound for Glory, was also in the band for awhile. No idea what happened to him...

What ever happened to that drummer that played with Moonstomp for a bit.... Dacien was it????

The drummer on the Moonstomp Album was Kevin Karem. He now goes by the name Kevin Prunty and plays guitar in the NYC band "The Turbo ACs". Anyone here who's arguing about 20+ year old personal and political beefs really needs to move on.
