76% Uncertain - Estimated Monkey Time

76% Uncertain was formed in 1983 by members of two other bands; CIA and Reflex From Pain. Both of these bands had released independent 7" vinyl EPs the previous year.

Early in 1984 we released our first album "Estimated Monkey Time". The song "Coffee Achievers" appeared on this album. This song was a tongue-in-cheek retort to a then-current ad campaign promoting the drinking of coffee.

We toured to promote this release, hitting many cities east of the Mississippi.

1986 brought the release of "Nothing But Love Songs" - 12 songs in less than 30 minutes! Several mini-tours followed its release. We were also writing lots of new material all through this time. A line up change also happened. Mike Spadaccini was added as the third guitarist, William Knapp left to work on other musical projects, and Chip Moody took over the task of drumming. A national tour with this line-up followed.

Our third album, "Hunka Hunka Burnin' Log" was released in 1989, with William back on drums. Shortly after its release, Mike left the band. Taking his place was Jeff Roberts, a longtime friend. He had been a fan, a roadie, and been to practically every show we ever did...what better person to be in the band!

We played a bunch of shows and wrote some new material with this lineup, but a bad record deal put the band into a tailspin. We all decided to call it quits before the 80's ended.--taken from 76% Uncertain webpage
